Weekly Catechism Question

Q: How can we know the Word of God?
A: We are commanded to hear, read and search the Scriptures
(1 Pet. 2:2; Rv. 3:22; Mt. 21:42; 22:29; 2 Tim. 3:14-17)

How do we know this to be true?
Because 1 Peter 2:2 teaches this, saying:
“Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.”

The Nearhoods

We are a Christian family. Specifically, we are a Particular Baptist (Reformed) family. We pray together, we worship together in church and at home, we play together, we do all around fun family things.

We confess with the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689), the three Ecumenical Creeds (Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian), and the Definition of Chalcedon as being right and orthodox summaries and explanations of Biblical truths.

This site

We keep this site to have easy access to links, thoughts, our blog, pictures, and our family worship/study notes.

Our hope is that by keeping this online journal of sorts we will be further blessed in our studies and that God may bless, through the presentation of His Word, someone in growth or to salvation.

Also, we hope to have a place to keep up with goings on, pictures, and family life stuff.  It's just a place for our family on the web.  We hope you enjoy visiting the site.  We enjoy having it.

Navigating the site

There are a few ways to get around the site.  You can start off either by using the navigation menu at the top of the sidebar or by following the links below.  Once at a subpage the navigation menu is always available, there are menus at the bottom of many pages that have subpages and almost every picture on the page is a link to a corresponding subpage (until you get to the "bottom page" of course).
